Hollywood Hair & Makeup Trends

Copper Eye Shadow

GET THE LOOK: Apricot-copper lids give light eyes more pop. But nothing makes a brown-eyed girl sizzle like deep cooper eye makeup. Sweep pale beige shadow from lashlines to crease. Apply copper in the creases, and add a touch right under your brow bones to highlight your bone structure.

INSIDER TRICK: Adding a darker shade into the crease of your lids give the eyes more dimension. To get deeper into the crease, lightly press a tapered shadow brush along the area from corner to corner.

Tyra Banks Wheres the beef?

As seen on Fashionzine

Tyra Banks had the contestants on America’s Next Top Model literally wear slabs of meat for their latest photo shoot.

There were beef bras and beef panties all over the place. Seriously, this is truly a sick concept…. disgusting. Come on Tyra, you can do better than this.

Tyra needs new idea people, because this idea is awful.

40 million tune in to see The Oscars

The Oscars had 40 million viewers. This could be the first year that non-American actors won the major acting awards. Daniel Day-Lewis won the Best Actor award and Tilda Swinton had the best supporting actress award. They are British. Marion Cotillard, from France, won the Best Actress. Javier Bardem, from Spain, won the Best Supporting Actor. Daniel Day-Lewis did a big show of receiving his award from Dame Helen Mirren. He got down on one knee and pretended that he was being knighted. Tilda Swinton appeared shocked at her win and could not assemble a speech in her head well. Marion Cotillard wept tears of joy when she won. It was an emotional night for the winners, presenters and everyone else who attended or watched the Oscars. The complete list of winners can be checked at the original Oscar site

Victoria Beckham 'worst-dressed celebrity'

As seen on Bestofbeckham.com's Blog

Victoria Beckham, who markets sunglasses and jeans under her own designer label, has been judged the world’s worst-dressed celebrity by a leading fashion guru.
Acid-tongued Richard Blackwell, who was designing dresses for the rich and famous when he started the list in 1960, attacked entertainment’s biggest stars in his compilation of fashion disasters for 2007.

It is the second time Mrs Beckham has made an appearance in the list’s number one slot.

In 1998 she featured along with her Spice Girl band mates who were derided by Mr Blackwell as "the only spices on the planet that have no taste."

And the 85-year-old LA-based designer still had plenty of venom to heap on the mother-of-three this year.

He said: "Forget the fashion spice, wearing a skirt would suffice! In one skinny-mini monstrosity after another, pouty Posh can really wreck-em."

Other stars listed for their fashion disasters included singers Amy Winehouse, Fergie, Kelly Clarkson and Jessica Simpson, Bond girl Eva Green and actress Lindsay Lohan.
Missing from the list was Britney Spears, who has made it many times before.

"I felt that it was inappropriate at this time to make comment, when her personal life is in such upheaval. I hope 2008 is a better year for her," Blackwell said.

His best-dressed list for 2007, which is not ranked, included Nicole Kidman, Cate Blanchett, Reese Witherspoon, Jemima Khan, Angelina Jolie, Beyonce, Helen Mirren, Katie Holmes, Katherine Heigl and Prince William’s girlfriend, Kate Middleton.

Richard Blackwell started his own clothing line, The House of Blackwell, in the 1950s and dressed actresses Jayne Mansfield and Jane Russell as well as first lady Nancy Reagan, among other famous names.

He was an important designer and during the 1960s he became the first in history to present his line on a television broadcast; and the first to make his line available for plus-size women.

The emergence of casual-wear in the 1980s brought an end to his fashion-line.

He is now best known as a fashion journalist and for producing his annual best and worst dressed lists every January.

The top 10 roll-call of fashion dishonours is:
1. Victoria Beckham
2. Amy Winehouse
3. Mary Kate Olsen
4. Fergie
5. Kelly Clarkson
6. Eva Green
7. Avril Lavigne
8. Jessica Simpson
9. Lindsay Lohan
10. Alison Arngrim

Dressing for Dating

As seen on ezRomance

Dating Tips .. Dress style.

You might have not ever thought about your "dating dress style" but this is 21st century and you need to keep pace with what the world is doing. What is your "dating dressing style" will have a impact on your date.

Remember the taste or nature of your date is very important while you decide that what is appropriate. If your date is serious type, you probably don't want "over power" them too soon. But maybe you do :) First, color and colorfulness is one aspect.

Take pink for instance. For girls pink goes naturally and is associated with "wholesome". While men wearing pink could send different messages (e.g, secure in masculinity, flair for color, daring, etc).

Another color for the dating can be red. Red is the color signifying action, power, passion, romance, sexuality, etc. Again, style of clothing and shoes matters when mixed with color. A woman wearing a fitted low cut red dress in heals is a different message than red turtleneck shirt with a slacks and black blazer.

As mentioned above, style of your clothes on your date matters. We all know sexy, conservative and successful. We also know notice many other things too :). Don't contradict your appear. Too often I hear woman say "he kept looking at my cleavage" and he was rather aggressive for a first date. In some cases maybe that low cut dress or baby-doll shirt was more YOUR fault. If you send a sexual vibe sometimes that is what you get back.

What you choose to wear includes more than clothing. Watches, pens and jewelry can also block getting to know someone. Wearing a Rolex or using a Monte Blanc can be fine -- it's the attitude you hold toward them: Is it important to you that your date notice them, or not?

As you stand in front of your closet deciding what to wear on your date here's a guiding principle you may find helpful: dress in an attractive but not attracting way. Not only does dressing in a manner that de-emphasizes your body, it conveys a confidence that you like who you really are and that there's more to you than meets the eye. And this type of confidence is attractive to others.

While physical attraction and often financial responsibility are important, they alone cannot sustain a lifelong marriage. And they are typically not reliable indicators regarding the potential for lasting love. So, it's key that you and your date get to know each other beyond the superficial before deciding to invest significant time with each other -- otherwise you risk temporarily falling for someone you later realize is not for you.

Celebrity Vacation Spots

As seen on Vacationzine's Blog

Do you spend your days staring longingly at glossy shots of celebrities lounging poolside?

Well, it's not too hard to join them.

Travel experts say there are a lot of tropical destinations you can go to that aren't very expensive, but let you vacation like a movie star nonetheless.

Florianapolis, an island off the coast of Southern Brazil, is the next "it" destination for celebrities, and it's still affordable for the rest of us, according to Jason Harper, editor at concierge.com, the companion Web site to Conde Nast Traveler.

“It’s the kind of spot where a lot of supermodels end up going,” Harper said, adding that Gisele Bundchen and her current surfer beau Kelly Slater have frequented Floripa, as it’s more commonly called. “It’s a hot surfing spot, so a lot of those people hang at the local bars.”
